I just realised I never reviewed this (due to the way I read fic I tend to forget to review, which I'm trying to get away from). But I love this story. It's beautiful and wonderful, like all of your stuff I've read and is just amazing.

Oh what a brilliant story, so in character and believable. It's such a sad ending though! that bloody kettle!!! And how sad for Sirius to lose his daily visitor (or could you, pretty please, do a sequel where Snape relents?). These 2 characters would fit together so well, they have so much in common that others couldn't possibly understand. Thank you for writing such a lovely piece: more more more please....

My gods – why oh why do you not have 100 reviews for this? I secretly love Snape/Black, especially when it’s done well, and when their bitter animosity and feuding isn’t glossed over. And this piece is wonderful in that respect. So haunting, so visual… I love the build-up, the standing in the doorway not speaking, the scuttling cockroach, the half-empty whiskey bottle. All the little details are beautiful, and create such a stunning mood for the whole piece – I could feel the grime, smell the mustiness, almost taste that liquor on Sirius’s breath…

And the end! Brilliant. Very brave of you to end it there… so many fics follow the same formula, that I would have expected these two to whip out their cocks and fuck right there in the kitchen, or else stumble upstairs, knowing it was wrong but unable to stop, etc etc. But your crashing kettle is perfect. The moment is gone. Reality sets in. And the stumbling through the hallway, past Mrs Black’s screaming… just wonderful. I have no criticisms at all of this fic, and that is rare for me. Excellent work. ~Lee

Author's Response: Wow. That's the most aazing review I have ever received. I'm blushing like mad. I worked so hard on this piece, because I find Snack very hard to write. It was a gift fic, so I had to make it just write, but, gah, it was so incredibly difficult to put together. I wanted this piece to be purely atmospheric, and I am so glad that this pulled off so well in that regards. I was aiming very hard for the idea of both Black and Snape being a personification of the house, but drawing metaphors between the two. I personally can't make Snack be 'fluffy' or at all 'romantic' - they are a gritty pairing, very tough to write. Thank you, once again, for your wonderful, wonderful review. Of all the fics that I have written, this one has been the least reviewed and recognised - I'm assuming that's because of the pairing. Or...I'm not sure. I had hoped for a better response for this, but...oh, well. Hehe. Thank you, once again. Your feedback means a lot to me. :) ~Toni.
