i have read now the first chapter and i like it really very, very much. the basilisk is cute :-)

Fabulous! I was rather intrigued at how the story would play out, as it is a rather unique plot, and it did not disappoint. The characterization of the basilisk was engaging and enthralling, and his interaction with JKR's characters was a joy to read. I read below that the piece was translated- props to you too love! I hadn't even imagined it was written any other way, it sounded so perfect.

that was such a great story! i loved how original it was. Smitty had such a great personality, and you really got into thinking like he would. At first i was a little squicked by him being with Draco, but Smitty really was more human than snake. and as long as Draco is happy... lol. thanks again for such a wonderful read! i really enjoyed it.

I was a little leery when I read the description for this story, as I was unable to imagine why I'd want to read about a basilisk - it would either be too serious or too farcical. But I love virtually every other story you've written (you were my first Snarry and I still think you write it best), so I gave it a try. And, of course, I loved it! Hilarious humour (intro to Snape with such beautifully condescending manners springs to mind) without losing the ability to be serious about love and relationships. The meta-narrative qualities, with my reading about the characters reading the first of the story, were very interesting. I think you made a sound narrative choice (although I don't usually like shifts in perspective from first to third person) because we really needed Smitty's own voice to get to know his character, but to tell the rest of the story it worked so much better with the reader learning from the characters that were now setting Smitty up. Thank you so much for this and all your amazing writing (and to RaeWhit for translating!) :)
