Before reading this story, I could never, no matter how hard I tried, truly enjoy a Harry/Severus pairing. Not that gay thing at all; give me Weasleys, give me Remus fics; I enjoyed them immensely. This was an absolutely beautiful piece. It was perfect parts heart wrenching, sexy, and completely and utterly believable. One of my favorite stories. Thank you!
Author's Response: That is, by far, the highest praise a Snarry author could hope for! Thank you so much--I'm thrilled you enjoyed it so much!
Goosebumps!!! I've had two near panic/excitement/I don't know what attacks... the Horcrux speculation is startling... most awesome story!
Author's Response: Thank you! Er, sorry about the panic, but I'm really glad you liked my story so much.
Oh and I forgot, the scruffy looking puffskein herder? LOL funny for us children of the 80s. "Who's scruffy lookin?"
Author's Response: Yay!!! Emmiebyrd, you are the first person to actually get that line. I'm so excited that someone finally picked up on it, thank you!!!
This was really well done. I'm not really into the slash genre, but I read this because of your win on Deathday. It was beautifully written and explains some of why some things happened courtesy of JKR and what could be. The love scenes were erotic, but tasteful and completely believible. You deserve the honor.
Author's Response: Thank you, Emmibyrd. It's always very satisfying when someone stepping out of their comfort-zone appreciates something so different. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it!
Jen! I loved it! I have tears in my eyes! I think you've just made me a Snape/Harry fan! Great story!
Author's Response: Shannon! That is quite probably the highest praise I could ever imagine for this fic. The goal was to convince an absolutely unbelieving Sirius, the fact that I might have convinced you as well is very gratifying. Thank you so much!! If you liked this one so much and are considering reading some more Snarry, my other one--'Humbug'--has been fairly well received as well. Let me know what you think. ~Jen
That was beautiful. Absolutley beautiful. *sniff*
You covered a lot of ground in a fairly short story (damn challenge restrictions!) but it did not feel rushed at all. You let the story unfold and the characters grow very naturally. Well done. I especially liked the "smart is sexy" double meaning with ron/snape. Very clever.
congrats on your win, it was well deserved.
Author's Response: Thank you, Tripp. I'm really pleased it came together as well as it did, and I'm very glad that you enjoyed it so much.
There are so many things I love about this fic, besides the fact that I just in general like the way you write period. The title of the fic itself is so appropriate, not for just Sirius' shifting from dimension to dimension, but also for the relationship between Harry and Severus, as they come to respect each other, alter their opinions of one another, and then come together as a couple. And that scene in the beginning of the fic where Sirius is not sure of the identity of Harry's lover, is just gorgeous. The ambiance of the entire scene is just so stunninly erotic. There are also several one-liners in the fic that showcase your talent with these--one of my favorites is, "My champion falls-my hope along with him." And how achingly sweet the resolution, that Sirius' acceptance of this present frees him to move on into his own inheritance of a better afterlife. I've loved this fic since I first set eyes on it, and the rereading of it was even better. Well done, Ms Snarry writier.
Author's Response: Thank you, Cyn. You know I don't really deserve such a wonderful and thoughtful review from you when I neglect to review your stories all too often. The success of this story owes as much to you as it does me. Apart from the fantastic input while I wrote it, my ultimate goal (apart from submitting to the Festival) was to write a story that you would enjoy. Thank you for everything!
Congratulations on your win. What an original story! I really liked it.
Author's Response: Thank you, Nyx! Congratulations to you, as well!! I haven't had a chance to check out your story yet, but RaeWhit has recommended it very highly to me, and I certainly plan on reading it soon.
this is just shockingly beautiful, although as a confirmed ashwinder addict i prefer snape and hermione, this pairing really works.
Author's Response: Thank you for stepping outside of your comfort zone to read my story, freewomble. I know how risky that can be, so I'm doubly glad that you liked it.
Snarry...that made me giggle. This is my first foray into slash and I enjoyed reading it. Congratulations on the second place win. I liked how the story was told from Sirius' point of view. It was nice to see some kind of closure for him finding peace on the other side.
Author's Response: Hi Dara, welcome to the wonderful world of slash. I hope your first experience was good enough to convince you to stay for a while. Thank you very much for letting me know what you thought of the story, and I'm very glad that you enjoyed it.
*wipes tears* I love it. It deserves the prize so completely. I hope the Harry/Snape thing (at least the help and stuff) appears in the last book; this was all ingeniously written. Top grades from me.
Author's Response: Thanks, Froggy! You are alwasy so wonderfully generous in your reviews. I'm glad you enjoyed this so much.
