I just tested out all the symbols that authors might use in titles (story title and chapter title) and the only character/symbol that is being changed from this time forward are the { } brackets.

All other characters/symbols are alright to use, and they are the following:

/ ~ ! ? : ; & % $ # , ( ) ^ @ * [ ] ` (this symbol is on the same key as ~ (at least on my keyboard))
