Wow...this was beautiful. Especially reading this post-HBP. After Book 6, I really needed to read some Snape/Dumbledore slash, seeing they're my two fav. characters. And seeing it from a post-HBP perspective makes it better, because Dumbledore really did sacrifice himself for Snape in a way, if you buy those theories, which I completely do. Wonderful fic!
Author's Response: Awwwwwww :) I'm really delighted you enjoyed it. Snape and Dumbledore are my two favourite characters as well, and after reading HBP, the two of them just break my heart (in a good way) even more. *sigh* I also believe all 'those theories'--no way did Snape betray Dumbledore! :)
Very sweet, dark use of language. Very tender. Loved it. Thank you so much. Looked ALL over my house just now for my Latin text (took college Latin for several years) but cannot find the blighter. But Miseria (misercordia) comes to mind as the root; could be wrong, though. That was 18 years ago.
Author's Response: Wow! Thanks for looking up the Latin! I really appreciate it. Naturally, I'm thrilled that you liked the story, too. :) "Tender" was exactly what I was trying to achieve. *sigh of relief*
You have used some stunning imagery and language here. Very, very well done.
Author's Response: *blushes profusely* Thanks so much!
That was very bittersweet, and mellow, but very well-written...
Good ideas, unique pairing (in my world), and perfect descriptions (subtle, yet enhancing *wink wink*)...
It flowed nicely, and I thouroghly enjoyed reading it...
Good job
Author's Response: I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. :)
This is a gorgeous fic, so well written and evocative. Beautiful light touch on the sex and the tenderness afterward (actually got me teary!). I especially like the history you've made between Albus and Severus, and how it fits so well into the canon. And there just isn't enough Albus romance fic out there, so I was very happy to find yours. Beautiful job!
And your Latin is perfect. While "miser" has a stronger connotation of misery and wretchedness than "misellus" (which translates closer to "mean" in the sense of "poor" or "inadequate"), I think that you were right to choose "misellus" because "Somnus Misellus" sounds much more poetic than "Somnus Miser"!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the kind review. You got teary? Awwwwwww. :) I agree -- definitely not enough Albus fics. I also appreciated the input regarding the Latin -- that put a lot of my qualms to rest, even if it's not as close a translation as I was hoping for.
