This is really lovely so far. Sirius/Remus is my favorite couple, and the James/Lily parts are very nice as well. You portray their friendship (MWPP) beautifully in all its strengths and awkwardness. I especially love how you write that the trick that Sirius played on Snape actually brought Sirius and Remus closer together, not farther apart. That's how I think it went too. I believe that Remus really did forgive Sirius quickly over it. The interludes with the second year reveal and the 1981 incident were very poignant. Thanks for writing. If you ever turn your hand to S/R again, I'll happily read it.
