I've just finished reading your fic, and I must say it was absolutely bloody fantastic! And then I saw that you've only got about five rewiews or so for this delightful fic, and that's just waaay too little in my opinion. You should have an award for your amazing creativeness and originality! (seriously, I mean it) oh, and, the picture in my head of snape in a nurse's uniform is just hilarious! ;-)

I'm sitting here so happy that I have found your stories. This is great and I HOPE I go to bed now but I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to read chapter 2 instead damn you. What a fun great story. Perfect combination of LOL moments ("my prick is attempting to become an internal organ" is my favorite) and real relationship stuff. As you can see by my user name I love smut, but I ADORE intelligent smut. Smut Plus, if you will. Love Severus' constant rationalizations. Write faster because you have become one of my new favorite authors. And I will probably not get the sleep I should tonight because I'll be up reading all your stuff. Damn you!

And another one of your magnificent stories! I love the way you handle Severus and Remus - especially in this fic. When I realized it was all about sex and sex and sex again, I was a bit worried ‘cause I couldn’t believe you would be able to hold up the tension throughout the story. But YAY, you did! You made them have not only hot and rough and wild sex nor was it always soft and careful. But there was something I could always see and, yes, even *feel* in ‘The Bet’: the tenderness and love between my two favorites. *shudders* I particularly liked these parts: ______ It occurred to Severus that he could win right now by saying that yes, he would. That he was quite simply not that attracted to Remus, and didn't feel like it. He looked at Remus for a moment, then put his book down and sat up. "It's not fair for you to make a bet I can't win without hurting you." "I..." "Shut up," Severus said, and kissed him. ______ "Oh, Severus," Remus said. "I didn't do anything," Severus said. Remus laughed, a gentle laugh. "You were you," he said, and kissed Severus on the shoulder. _______ "I thought you were..." Remus' forehead wrinkled as he trailed off. "Greasy, slimy, skinny, and nasty?" Severus said. "Oddly fascinating," Remus said. "Do you suppose it was some kind of sublimated attraction?" Severus shrugged, but he was mildly pleased. _______ It wasn't until they got back to his rooms that Severus realized that he could have given those students detention. _______ "I never dreamed you'd trust me enough to let me do something like..." Oh, yes. Yes, yes, Merlin, God, yes, please yes. Remus looked up at him. He had the expression of a man who's had a religious experience. "That's what you want from me, isn't it?" Severus nodded, not daring to speak. Remus stared at him for a moment, then shook his head and buried his face in Severus' chest. "It's not you I don't trust," he said. "It's the wolf." (Awww...) ______ Perhaps I should stop here ;-) It’s far too tempting to quote the whole story... ^__^ But to bring my thoughts to an end: All the tender, loving moments between my dear Potions Master and the lovely werewolf (who’s just the one perfect lover for him :D) culminate in this part: ______ "You didn't seem to mind the growling," Remus said. Severus smirked and shook his head. "Say something," Remus said. "I love you," Severus said. It was something he didn't say often or lightly, but something told him it was the right thing to say right now. Remus curled up closer and relaxed. ______ *wipes the tears from her face* There are so many fics in which the authors let Severus say these important words. Usually, I hate it. He’s just not the person to say it that way, to say it directly. It always seems wrong. But here... I simply have no words to explain how deeply you touched me with these lines. There’s so much behind them. I could positively feel Remus’ relief when he realized that Severus was not at all disgusted by the growling, that he really didn’t mind it. It was so bloody right for Severus to say ‘I love you’, just the perfect thing to reassure Remus and to calm him, and I even antizipated it. Severus Snape saying ‘I love you’. Yay. YAYAYAYAY!! I suppose, the proper thing to say right now is: I love you, Xochiquetzl. I really do. Thanks a lot for your stories, and for ‘The Bet’ in particular. I’m looking forward to read more on ‘Moonshadow’. And now I’m desperate to see if Remus will be able to overcome his fears and let Severus chain him. Please, pleeeease, do something about it! Oh, and: Happy New Year, my precious!! (You don’t mind me calling you ‘my precious’, do you? Because you are right now. Definitely. ^___^) Best wishes! Night

Author's Response: Um, wow. Thank you! :D I try not to be too sappy--it's not enough to have the characters declare their love if the reader doesn't believe it yet, IMHO. Part two is in the queue, so hopefully all will be approved in the fullness of time.
