Hello, very very well written story. I like the way that the atmosphere and feelings are portraited through Hermione's point of view. I adore Percy's character, please update! Kisses, Apostata.

What a neat tale! Original idea, well written - it drew me in, although I didn't think I'd like it at first. I can't help but hope that neither Percy nor Snape is an albatross to the other. I hope they are actually happy together. I think one can read it that way. Percy is not afraid of Snape, and Snape tolerates him. I think Snape is showing kindness by telling him to use magic, after Percy's being in prison without his wand, perhaps made to labour without a wand. The one character said they make them regret it, even without dementors.
Thanks for this fascinating story!
Author's Response: Ah, that's an interesting reading of the title. The albatross is the shared history that they can't shake: their past involvement (no matter how superficial) with the Death Eaters. It's that history that happened to bring them together. Snape was the only one who would give Percy a job. There's a detailed backstory, in fact.
You're absolutely correct. Percy wasn't allowed to use magic, and was forced to labour without it. The guilt and trauma has made it very difficult for him to use magic.

Fascinating premise, nicely written. I like how Percy smoothed Snape's ever-prickly feathers. Thanks for a good read!
Author's Response: Thank you very much. Who knew Percy's schmooze ability would ever come in handy?
